wow i actually watched a nonzero number of movies this month!? aka during thanksgiving break i managed to see…

• king richard: AHHH I REALLY ENJOYED THIS!!! i am also just like. a person who is susceptible to motivational sports films and i thought will smith was quite good in this T__T
• eternals: this was sooo bad and cheesy but also 1) i don’t usually like marvel movies anyways 2) everyone already knows this
• booksmart: wait this wasn't during thanksgiving. anyways i watched this a day before my cs final because my friend and i wanted to ~destress~ and this was sooo fun T__T i feel like it’s kind of crazy and unrealistic but i loved how fast everything moved and i never felt bored while watching

things i want to get to:

• french dispatch
• west side story
• spider-man new movie
• zola
• c’mon, c’mon
• finish heart attack because i watched the first 45 min of it with a friend

i don’t think i finished anything. however i am currently watching…

• bad buddy: GUYSSSSS. WHY IS THIS SHOW SO SERIOUS!!!! the actors are like ACTEURS and i love the secret relationship ridiculousness of it all. like yes i watch this on 1.25x speed but that’s part of the process T__T also ohm is literally so cute. this was the only thing keeping me sane as i studied for my math final btw
• arcane: watching this while making holiday cards. I FINALLY UNDERSTAND THE VIKTOR / LESBIANS STUFF NOW!!!!!
• kiekoi: ummm ok to be honest i watched like four episodes of this but only because i wanted to talk to kaia. and we kind of gave up on watching it together but i think now that i’m less stressed out about school (aka i don’t have school) i’ll have time to watch thisss

gmmtv side note: emily’s gmmtvposting along with all of the trailers coming out has got me back into thai dramas again fr… does anyone else want to watch BOYS OVER FLOWERS THAILAND WITH ME!??! also the new gmmtv 04z are so endearing to me like i’m honestly excited for moonlight chicken because it’ll have earthmix + MISTER FOURTH AS EARTH’S GAY NEPHEWWWWW T__T

also yes i’m one of those nanonfilm hetshippers. sorry for existing but nanon is so c^te and then film is the most perfect girl ever (after juné the og perfect gorl)

genuinely only have the brain space for graphic novels atm… anyways i’ve read three books so far.

• seek you: a journey through american loneliness by kristen radtke — got this while at san francisco during thanksgiving break T__T the art is quite nice but IDKK i just think the content in general resonated with me a lot. like who doesn’t struggle with feelings of loneliness… haha… i think that’s just part of being human and radtke shows us how normal/common it is in a really beautiful and thoughtful way. will also give u flashbacks to ap psychology tho
• my body by emily ratajkowski — i just needed something to read on my phone because i woke up at 6am with my wisdom teeth hurting and i ran out of bad buddy episodes to watch T__T if you’ve read her essay in the cut from last year, then you’ll see that it’s kind of similar to that/expands on that content. super interesting and distracted me from my tooth pain which is all that matters
• laura dean keeps breaking up with me by mariko tamaki — i requested this from the library after kaia mentioned it in her 5 star lgbt ya books post… i think this might be the first mariko tamaki graphic novel that i’ve actually enjoyed LOL. like there’s something about the art style that is sooo endlessly charming and detailed and beautiful and then the actual story (just a 17 y/o lesbian in a toxic relationship, figuring shit out) didn’t frustrate me as much as tamaki’s previous books did… also i think the little insights about Breakups Being Messy and whatever is just so true. IDK I REALLY LIKED THIS ONE GUYS!!!!

why have i read 74 books this year. um we’ll see how much i get thru this break tho… i also checked out the complete persepolis by marjane satrapi and the nightingale by kristin hannah from the university library and who knows what i’ll do at the local town library >:)

goddd genuinely feel like i’ve aged a year within the span of 6 weeks… why is the quarter system always like this. i also don’t really remember what happened to me because this post covers such a large amount of time!! but i do know that i haven’t been consuming much media in favor of um… well studying and talking to people and sleeping. LOL

some highlights:

• van showing me around sj during thanksgiving break, and then me immediately taking one of my hs friends to the same exact places + zipcaring with uni friends there two weeks later T__T [person who likes christmas lights]
• speaking of thanksgiving break… it was weirdly lonely in the sense that campus was hella empty and none of my friends stayed, but at the same time i enjoyed meeting new people and exploring the bay and stuff TT
• going to the emergency room on the day of my math midterm because of food poisoning
• throwing a post-finals “party” for my “math class” and more than 2 people actually showing up <3 even though we were on the rooftop of some random building and it was like 40 degrees out - buying tickets for random hyperpop concerts because they’re cheap and i can’t afford much more than $30/ticket LOL
• spontaneously buying a pair of filas during black friday so that me and kaia can maximize our joint chunky_white_sneakers slay <3
• met up with another twitter mutual (miss solarreveille herself!!!)

i am kind of behind on commenting but please be assured that i have been READING everyone’s dreamwidth posts and i miss dw posting so badly T___T hoping everyone is making it thru this last stretch of the year ok!!
